By using the ClinkMe mobile application, website, or services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account Information:

  • Full name, email address, phone number
  • Date of birth
  • Profile photo (optional)
  • Password (encrypted)

Payment Information:

  • Last 4 digits of card (full card data processed by Stripe)
  • Billing address
  • Payment transaction history

Gift Transaction Information:

  • Recipient information (name, email, phone)
  • Gift details (item, venue, amount, message)
  • Redemption status and history

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

Location Information:

We collect location data to show nearby venues and filter gifts by city. This includes:

  • Precise GPS location (if you grant permission)
  • Approximate location based on IP address
  • City and state information

You can control location permissions through your device settings.

We also collect device information, usage data, and log data to improve the Service and prevent fraud.

We do NOT sell your personal information.

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers:

  • Stripe: Payment processing
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): Cloud infrastructure (S3, SES, RDS)
  • Analytics providers: Understand Service usage
  • Communication services: Email and notification delivery

Gift Recipients:

When you send a gift, the recipient receives your name, gift details, and optional message. We do NOT share your payment information with recipients.

Participating Merchants:

Merchants receive only the minimum information necessary for redemption (item, redemption code, date). We do NOT share your payment information with merchants.

Legal Requirements:

We may disclose information if required to comply with laws, respond to legal processes, or protect rights and safety.

5. Your Rights and Choices

✓ Access Your Information

You can access most of your information through your account settings in the app. You may also request a copy of your data.

✓ Correct or Delete

Update your profile information in the app or request deletion of your account by emailing support@clinkme.app.

✓ Opt-Out of Marketing

Click "unsubscribe" in marketing emails or adjust notification preferences in app settings. You cannot opt out of transactional communications.

✓ Control Location & Cookies

Manage location permissions through device settings. Control cookies through browser settings or mobile device advertising settings.

6. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to Know: Request categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect
  • Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information
  • Right to Opt-Out: We do NOT sell your information
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We won't discriminate for exercising your rights

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah also have similar privacy rights. Contact us at the same email address.

You can protect your account by using a strong password, not sharing credentials, and reporting suspicious activity immediately.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18, or from children under 13 in compliance with COPPA.

If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete that information immediately. Contact privacy@clinkme.app if you believe a child has provided information to us.
